Brothers and Sisters!

Assalam o Alleyykum

[Peace be Upon You]

Hajj is Essential of Islam which keeps closer to Allah and when one performs Hajj, Allah, with His (SWT) Grace forgives all his sins and he becomes like a new born baby.

Brothers and Sisters! Allah has sent mankind in this world for a test. Allah Knew that upon the inspiration of Naffas (Psyche) and Shaitan mankind will digress from the Right Path and shall commit sins . Allah revealed in the Qur’an that when one will repent and beg forgiveness of Allah He (SWT) will not only forgive his sins but turn the Bad Deed into Good Deeds.

Translation Surah Al Furqan Ayat no.70

بسم اللہ الرحمن الرحیم

Except those who repent and believe (in Islamic Monotheism), and do righteous deeds; for those, Allah will change their sins into good deeds, and Allah is Oft – forgiving, Most Merciful.

Brothers and Sisters! Allah is Great and Merciful. He (SWT) loves His (SWT) Bandahs and this is why Allah (SWT) is ready to forgive provided one repents and beg forgiveness with sincerity of heart and mind.

Brothers and Sisters! Hajj is to be performed at Makkah in Saudi Arabia where people come to Makkah from all over the world.

Brothers and Sisters! To perform Hajj become Farad (obligatory) when the wealth of a Muslim exceeds Nisab (limit) set by the Sharia. So Muslims should watch out that if their wealth exceeds Nisab (limit) and perform Hajj as soon as possible.

Brothers and Sisters! Once Hajj becomes Farad (obligatory) then it has to be performed even though one may enter in the bracket of being poor i.e. his wealth has fallen below the Nisab (limit). If he does not perform Hajj then he will be accountable on the Day of Judgment.

Brothers and Sisters! The context of Hadith is that one who performs Hajj, all his sins are forgiven by Allah and he becomes like a new born baby.

The Prophet Mohammed (SAW) said: (nearest meaning)

The Mo’min who performs Hajj in this manner that there is no transgression from Sharia, he becomes just as he comes out of the uterus of his mother.

Brothers and Sisters! Now let us look how a Muslim can get closer to Allah and become like a new born baby.

Preparation

Brothers and Sisters! Every Muslim knows that one of the pillars of Islam is to perform Hajj at Makkah in Saudi Arabia at least once in his life time. In view of this fact he should make the following preparation.

• Once the wealth has reached Nisab set by the Sharia then one should make an intention to perform Hajj.
  

• As per narration Blessings of Allah are showered upon Bait Ullah every moment directly from Arsh (Throne) of Allah as the Arsh is above the seventh Heaven exactly above Bait ullah. To absorb the Blessings of Allah one must prepare his body and soul pure and clean otherwise the Blessings of Allah will slip just like water slips if it poured on greasy pitcher.
  

• To clean body and soul one should regularly offer two Rakat Salat. Before the Salat is offered he should sit in seclusion and visualize all the sins he has committed i.e. deeds which are strictly prohibited by Sharia and if he has infringed the rights of other people. Thereafter he should offer two Rakat Salat and repent about the sins he has committed and infringed the rights of others and then beg forgiveness of Allah.
  

• Where he has infringed the rights of other people he should go to see them and ask to forgive him or accept compensation in return for forgiveness e.g. where the other person has suffered loss because of infringement of his rights.
  

• The context of Hadith is that Allah with His (SWT) Grace forgives all the sins of Shaheed but the loan he has not repaid. On the Day of Judgment he will be accountable. Therefore he should pay all his loans.
  

• The wealth which shall be expended to perform Hajj must have been earned by Halal means. If he will perform Hajj with doubtful or Harm earnings the Hajj will not be accepted by Allah though the Farad shall be discharged.
  

• Prepare himself to face any hardships which may come on the way to Makkah and also what he will come across in Makkah.

  • Recitation of Talbiha
    

  • how to wear Ahram
    

  • to look Bait Ullah at first sight
    

  • making Dua’a to Allah at first sight
    
  • taw’aaf around Bait Ullah seven times starting from Hajre e Aswad (Black Stone)
    
  • the Qura’nic Dua’as which have to be recited while performing Taw’aaf
    
  • two Rakat Nafal Salat after the Taw’aaf is completed at Maqam e Ibrahim.
    
  • drinking Ab e Zam Zam
    
  • doing Sae i.e. to go forward and backward between Safa and Marwa seven times
    
  • to go to Mina
    
  • to go to Arafat from Mina
    
  • to come back from Arafat to Muzdalifa
    
  • leave Muzdalifa for Mina
    
  • to go and throw pebbles on Shaitan
    
  • taw’aaf e Ziarat
    
  • sacrifice

  Brothers and Sisters! If one learns the above essentials to perform Hajj he will become confident and shall be in a position to perform Hajj amicably.
  

  Talbiha
  

  Brothers and Sisters! Talbiha is the ‘Key’ factor in the performance of Hajj and Umrah. When one wears Ahram and performs two Rakat Nafal Salat he has to recite Talbiha:
  

  
  

  Labbaiyk Allahuma Labbaiyk. Inalhamdah Wanamatah laka wal Mulk. La shareeka luk.
  

  Here I am! at Your service, O Lord! Here I am! at Your service, You have no partner. Here I am! at Your service. All the praise is Yours, so is the bounty, and to You belongs the dominion; there is no partner to You. Here I am! at Your service.
  

First Sight at Bait ullah

Brothers and Sisters! He should approach Bait Ullah in manner that he is going before the Highest Authority. When enters Masjid Al – Haram he should lower his gaze and keep moving forward until he reaches near Bait Ullah. He should gradually lift his eyelashes and look at Bait Ullah. Then he should make Dua’a for himself, parents, wife and children, friends and relatives along with Dua’a that Allah gives him Toffeeq (help) to perform Hajj amicably and his Hajj should be accepted.

Taw’aaf

Brothers and Sisters! As below are the steps and Dua’as while doing Taw’aaf:

• He should start Taw’aaf by kissing Hajre e Aswad. However, if he cannot get a chance to kiss Hajre Aswad that should do Istalam i.e. point his hands towards Hajre Aswad .
  

• He should recite Third Kalimah until he reaches Rukne Yamani:
  

Subhan Allah Wal Hamdu’lillah wa La Ilaha Ilal Wallah ho Akber. Wa La Hola Wala Quwata illa Billah hil Alie ul Azeem 

[Glory be to Allah and all Praises be to Allah. There is none worthy of worship besides Allah. And Allah is the Greatest. There is no power and might except from Allah. The Most High, the Most Great].

• When he reaches Rukne Yamani he should recite the following Dua’a:
  

  
  

  Rabbana Aiatina Fiddunya Hasanata (n) w wa Fil Akhirati Hasanatan (N) w Wa Qina Azabannar.

  [O Our Lord! Grant us goodness in this world and goodness in the hereafter also and save us from the torture of Hell].
  

• When he reaches the starting point he should either kiss Hajre Aswad
  or do Istalam and start his second round. In this way he should complete the seven rounds around Bait ullah.
  

Two Rakat Nafal Salat

Brothers and Sisters! When he completes his Taw’aaf he should go to Maqam e Ibrahim and offer two Rakat Nafal Salat. However, if somebody else is offering Salat then he should either wait or offer Salat other than Maqam e Ibrahim.

Drinking Abe Zam Zam

Brothers and Sisters! After offering two Rakat Salat he should go and drink Abe Zam Zam. Brothers and Sisters! Abe Zam Zam has such properties which no other water in the world has. So drink as much as you can.

Sae between Safa and Mar’wa

Brothers and Sisters! After drinking Abe Zam Zam you should go to the hill Safa and make Dua’a facing Bait Ullah. Thereafter embark upon Sae i.e. go towards hill Mar’wa. While heading toward Mar’wa recite the following Dua’a.

Rabbana Aiatina Fiddunya Hasanata (n) w wa Fil Akhirati Hasanatan (N) w Wa Qina Azabannar.

[O Our Lord! Grant us goodness in this world and goodness in the hereafter also and save us from the torture of Hell].

Brothers and Sisters! When you reach Mar’wa make Dua’a facing Bait Ullah. Thereafter move towards Safa reciting the above Dua’a. In this way complete seven rounds between Safa and Mar’wa.

Shaving Head

Brothers and Sisters! Seventh round will be completed on hill Mar’wa. After making Dua’a have your head shaved.

Come out of Ahram

Brothers and Sisters! Once the head is shaved you are out of Ahram.

Dua’a at Multazim

Brothers and Sisters!
Dua’a at Multazim is not part of Hajj. However, you should go near Multazim and if possible attach your arms and body with the wall of Bait Ullah and make Dua’a to Allah to be patient while performing essentials of Hajj and the Hajj is accepted by Allah. Also make Dua’a for other matters of life and for parents, wife, children, friends and relatives, friends and otherwise.

Other Essentials of Hajj

Brothers and Sisters! The other essentials of Hajj are as below:

• On 8 Zilhaj Muslims have to go to Mina   
  

• On 9 Zilhaj Muslims have to go to Arafat
  

• In the evening Muslims have to come back and stay at Muzdalifa for the night
  

• After performing Fajar Salat Muslims will leave for Mina
  which will be 10 Zilhaj
  

• On 10, 11 and 12 Zilhaj Muslims will have to go and throw stone on Shaitan
  

  
  

• On 10 Zilhaj sacrifice of lamb or cow will be made. 10 Zilhaj is Eid day
  

• After the sacrifice the head will be shaved where Muslims will come out of Ahram
  

• On 10 or 11 Zilhaj Muslims should go to Bait Ullah and perform Taw’aaf e Ziarat
  

Brothers and Sisters! Alhamdu’lillah! Hajj is accomplished. If the Hajj is accepted by Allah with His (SWT) Grace then all the sins are forgiven by Allah and one becomes like a new born baby.

Brothers and Sisters! From 8 Zilhaj until the Hajj is accomplished Muslims should keep on reciting:

• Talbiha
  

• Dhikr (remembrance) of Allah
  

• Dua’as:
  
  
  • repenting and forgiveness
    

  • acceptance of Hajj
    
  • toffeeq to follow Guidance of Allah and Teachings of Anbiyya e Karam
    

Brothers and Sisters! Alhamdu’lillah! The Hajj is accomplished.

Brothers and Sisters! The life in this world is for a short time where it needs guidance for every sphere of life. Therefore, Allah has inflicted properties in every essential of Hajj which one can utilize in his day to day life.
