Brothers and Sisters!

Assalam o Alleyykum

[Peace be Upon You]

Alhamdu’lillah! It has been proved rationally the object of creation of mankind is to perform Salat
and Iqamat as Salat . Brothers and Sisters! The exclusive presence before Allah is Performance of Salat and to search for the Bounties of Allah is Iqamat as Salat.

Brothers and Sisters! Allah has devised the time between day and night. The earth completes its circle around Sun in 24 hours. The part of earth which is in front of sun, it is day time and the part of the earth which is beyond sun it is night time.

Brothers and Sisters! So as the earth moves around the sun then the there is gradual increase in light until its centre point is before the sun which is termed as Mid-day. After mid-day when the earth moves along then there is gradual decrease in light and when the centre point is away from the sun the night emerges.

Brothers and Sisters! Under the light of Qur’an and Hadith day is to make search for the Bounties of Allah i.e. Iqamat as Salat and night is for rest and relaxation.

Brothers and Sisters! Allah has devised the system of Performance of Salat in accordance with the degrees i.e. the ratio of light between earth and sun. This is how the 24 hours circle is divided into:

  • dawn

  • morning

  • mid – day

  • afternoon

  • evening

  • night

Brothers and Sisters! The times for the performance of Salat are also determined in accordance with the degrees of the sun i.e.

  • Fajar time starts from dawn until before the sun rise

  • Zohar time starts from mid – day till 2/3 of the day i.e. afternoon

  • Asr time starts from afternoon
    till evening
i.e. 15 minutes before the sunset

  • Magrib time starts soon after the sunset i.e. evening

  • Esha time starts at night i.e. 1 ½ hour after evening until mid – night.

Brothers and Sisters! The freshness of mind is also dependent upon the degrees of the sun i.e. the environments which emerge from the movement of earth around the sun:

  • Environments in the morning are very pleasant so when one gets up and takes bath and shower he feels fresh and after having breakfast he is in a position to make use of his faculties at optimum level.

  • After few hours his mind and body gets tired because there is change in the environments so he needs rest. He has his lunch where his mental and body spirits revive and then he can start working.

  • But as the sun goes down i.e. late afternoon then he is exhausted in a way and then he leaves for home.

Brothers and Sisters! This is the reason the working hours range from 9.00am in the morning till 5.00pm in the afternoon.

Brothers and Sisters! Alhamdu’lillah! The times of performance of Salat are determined in such a manner that Muslims can avail the Blessings of Allah and keep fresh spiritually.

Fajar Salat

Brothers and Sisters! In the morning before he sets for the search for the Bounties of Allah he offers his Fajar Salat which makes him ready for Iqamat as Salat.

Zohar Salat

Brothers and Sisters! In the afternoon he gets tired and retires for lunch. After having lunch he offers Zohar Salat where he becomes spiritually active.

Asr Salat

Brothers and Sisters! In the late afternoon he is exhausted so he goes home and relaxes. After relaxation he offers Asr Salat and enjoys with his family.

Magrib Salat

Brothers and Sisters! In the evening after Magrib Salat he discuss, converse, and exchange views with family.

Esha Salat

Brothers and Sisters! At night before doing to bed he offers Esha Salat and sleeps to get ready the life circle once again.

PLAN FOR PERFORMANCE OF SALAT

Brothers and Sisters! As the life revolves around Iqamat As Salat and one gets busy and tired so Naffas and Shaitan inspire him to skip performance of Salat i.e. exclusive presence before Allah.

Brothers and Sisters! However, to defeat Naffas and Shaitan one can plan his day in such a manner that he can perform Salat within the time due. As below is an outline how one can plan performance of Salat:

Fajar

Brothers and Sisters!

  • Everybody has to get up in the morning: woman of the house, children and man of the house.

  • As the time for Fajar Salat starts at dawn and finishes until before the sunrise, there is space of time of around two hours.

  • It will be better to get up within the space of time, have bath or shower or make Wadu and offer Fajar Salat.

Brothers and Sisters! Performance of Fajar Salat will refresh you spiritually and this will attract Blessings of Allah and you will be able to use your faculties amicably whether you are a housewife, student, businessman, employee or office worker.

Zohar

Brothers and Sisters!

  • One of the constraints in performing Salat is to make Wadu.

  • Everyone needs to go to bathroom between 10.00am to 12.00 pm. After the use of utility one normally has to wash hands and may be splash some water on the face to refresh, it will be better to make Wadu.

  • The time for Zohar Salat starts from soon after mid – day.

  • So as soon as the time of Zohar Salat falls due one can perform Zohar Salat.

Brothers and Sisters! Allah has devised a system that as soon as one performs Salat with sincerity of heart and mind Allah transmits His (SWT) Blessings and the mind get spiritually active.

Asr

Brothers and Sisters! It may be when the Asr time falls due you are still in Wadu so you can perform Asr Salat. However, if after Zohar Salat you may have to go to bathroom, so you can make Wadu likewise you made Wadu before Zohar Salat.

Magrib

Brothers and Sisters! It may be when Magrib time falls due you are still in Wadu where you can perform Magrib Salat. However, if you have gone home then after relaxing make Wadu and perform Magrib Salat where you will become fresh and then enjoy with your family.

Esha

Brothers and Sisters! It may be that when Esha time falls due you are still in Wadu where you can perform Esha Salat. However, after having your dinner before going to bed make Wadu and offer Esha Salat.

CONCLUSION

Brothers and Sisters! Alhamdu’lillah! Allah has determined the timing of performance of Salat in such a manner that one can remain in Wadu most of the time where he will enjoy Blessings of Allah every moment of his day to day life. This means while Iqamat as Salat you will be in Wadu.

Brothers and Sisters! The imperative of Wadu can be judged from the following Hadith:

Brothers and Sisters!

  • Khatim ul Anbiyya (SAW) ascended above Seventh Heaven upon the behest of Allah i.e. Ma’ra’aj. After the dialogue between Allah and Prophet Mohammed (SAW), Allah asked Angel Gibra’iel (PBUH) to escort Prophet (SAW) towards Paradise.

  • When Prophet (SAW) were heading towards Paradise He (SAW) listened the sound of footsteps ahead of Him (SAW). He (SAW) recognized that this is the sound of the steps of Hazrat Bilal (RTU).

  • When Prophet (SAW) came back on earth he (SAW) told Hazrat Bilal (RTU) that He (SAW) heard the sound of his footsteps while He (SAW) was heading towards Paradise.

  • Prophet (SAW) asked him what is your deed which has given you such a status?

  • Hazrat Bilal (RTU) replied to the effect: Ya Rasool Allah! I am not aware of any such deed except that when I make Wadu thereafter I offer two Rakat Nafal Salat.

Brothers and Sisters!

This depicts that Hazrat Bilal remained

in Wadu most of the time.

Brothers and Sisters! There is another Hadith the connotation is that when a Muslim is in Wadu then his body is encircled by an invisible shield where he is protected from evil forces.

Brothers and Sisters! Do you not think that it is worthwhile to be in Wadu all the time where:

  • you can perform Salat as soon as the time falls due

  • protected by a shield

  • attract Blessings of Allah every moment of your life

May Allah be with You

Wass’a’lam

[May Allah Bless You]
